Forest Tower Duo

The Forest Duo combines the Junior Forest Tower with a Forest Tower full of spiral climbing play. The two Towers are connected via an ADA accessible bridge and children can enter and exit each Tower in multiple ways.

The two combine to encourage collaborative play that incorporates features for both junior and senior aged children. The taller Forest Tower has spiraling nets to two higher levels that offer a birds’ eye view as well as a six-foot high stainless steel slide and a net scramble climber with direct access from ground level into the Tower.

Play Value

The Junior Forest Tower provides one of several access routes into the taller Forest Tower. Together, the Forest Duo provides adventurous and imaginative play affordances for kids of all ages and abilities.

The ADA transfer platform in the Junior Forest Tower, along with the spiral stairs lead to a platform and bench that connects to the bridge. Stainless steel rails suspend the flexform bridge with accoya boards offering a fun route up to the Forest Tower.

Merits

The curvy Forest Duo is a natural form that blends into a landscape. The abstract nature of the design allows children to interpret the structures how they imagine, rather than dictate play.

The circular space inside gives a sensation of the ability to move in any direction. There are always choices to be made - to go up or down; to perch or hang out, or to move to another level or tower. The open ended play value of these towers is incredibly high and children will want to return over, and over because each visit will feel different!

Materials

The Forest Duo is constructed with a frame cladded with Accoya. Accoya is also used for platforms and steps. The Junior Forest Tower has a 4 foot high double-width stainless steel slide; the taller Tower has a 6 foot high stainless steel slide. Interior play includes ropes, nets and flexform.

The Forest Duo is accessible via the Junior Forest Tower and includes an ADA compliant flexform bridge.
