Jump or step from post to post as you maneuver through the bog and keep your feet off the ground! Bog stilts are a wonderful way to functionally link different natural playground elements. When combined with other post and rope pieces, the wood playground can become a circuit with endless routes of play. Bog stilts are best when used in multiples.
Bog Stilts are available in the following sizes (measurement to tallest step):
Bog Stilts are available in three stepper heights and can be placed individually or grouped together. They also work well in combination with Log Steppers, Notched Logs or to functionally link other playground elements. Each post has two stilts attached. The height of the stilts on either side of the post is offset to add challenge.
Bog Stilts can be configured in many ways. Depending on the configuration and number of Bog Stilts, they may be appropriate for 2-5 years or 5-12 years.
With varying heights, children love to move around and through the Bog Stilts. They are a wonderful place for playground games like "Grounders" where the goal is to stay off the surfacing material. Bog Stilts can be stained to add colour to your playground.
Bog stilt logs are made of hand-processed Robinia pseudoacadia logs sourced from Ontario and the Northeastern United States. Logs have a minimum diameter of 6 inches. The Bog Stilts are bolted to opposite sides of the side of the Robinia posts. The wood texture of the hand-sanded Robinia logs is a pleasant sensory experience. As a poor conductor of heat, the wood never feels too hot or too cold to bare skin.
When located on an accessible surface, Bog Stilts are an accessible ground level play feature.
