Floppy’s interior is a cozy hideaway with 2 small benches that provide a sheltered space for quiet moments or social play. Scaled for several young children to fit inside together, they can also interact with kids on the exterior.

Floppy’s eyes serve as windows, and a black interior wall invites creative chalk drawings. The back is gently sloped for climbing, leading to Floppy’s soft and bendable ears for sensory play. Cladding gaps encourage interaction. Floppy has a small red heart on its interior and a round window for inside/outside social connection.

Merits

The simple, familiar shape of Floppy as a rabbit or hare is immediately inviting, like a favourite storybook character. Like other Critters, it can be imagined as playable public art, suited to settings from school playgrounds, a library lawn, or a town square. Floppy provides a hut-like sensory experience with a sense of enclosure, while its wide opening ensures clear sight-lines for caregivers. Materials

The Floppy is constructed with a marine-grade plywood frame and is clad in Accoya. Its ears are made from Flexform, and its tail is crafted from a white oak log.
